Tsedek Story

Tsedek was created by Chief Rabbi Paul Roitman (1920-2007), a French Zionist resistance hero in Nazi-occupied World War II and an important figure who has helped rebuild the French Jewish community after the war.

Most notably, he was key in helping the Jews of North Africa integrate in France. He immigrated to Israel in 1970 where he continued his important work for the disadvantaged youth. There, Chief Rabbi Roitman observed that the children from poor neighborhoods faced great distress and dangers, such as malnutrition, school dropout, delinquency, drugs, alcohol, family violence etc. To remedy that situation, he created Tsedek in the ‘80s.
